Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship nationwide?

YES! We ship beef raised here on the Darlington Ranch straight from our ranch in Montana to your door.

Where does the beef come from?

We raise the cattle on our ranch in Montana. Once the cattle come of age they are butchered at our local processing facility and then we as a family pack your beef and ship it to you. The beef that arrives at your door is truly from the pasture to your plate, no middlemen!

How is it shipped?

We ship beef the first Monday of every month via UPS.

Your beef is packed utilizing eco-friendly materials and with the use of "ice-sheets" or dry ice. The beef will arrive at your door ready to pop in the freezer!

Do you give your beef antibiotics or steroids?

We do not use antibiotics or steroids in our farm-to-table beef. If an animal were to require antibiotics to sustain life they would immediately be removed from our beef program!

Are your animals "grass-fed"?

Yes, our beef is grass-fed and grass-finished. But, what we focus on more is the animals quality of life, therefore we market our beef as "pasture raised".

They remain on open pasture for the entirety of their lives grazing on native grasses. They have constant access to fresh pasture and spring fed reservoirs.

In addition to eating grasses, what makes our pasture-raised beef unique is the "light-grain finish". The cattle remain out on pasture while also receiving a small amount of locally grown barley. Each morning we bring them their barley treat, you should see their excitement when they hear our buckets clanging. This finishing method has been passed down in our family for 5 generations and is truly what sets us apart!

How do you keep the meat frozen during shipping?

We utilize dry ice or "ice blankets" in all our shipments to ensure they arrive at your door frozen! In addition to this we use highly rated eco-friendly liners and insulated bags to extend the life of the freeze!
